This week on the podcast is part two of our interview with Dan Gorman. He’s a Co-Founder of Route 8 Studios, a collaborative graphic design and illustration studio featuring comic book artists and designers. He’s worked on over 150 Licensed Trading Card sets with dozens of well-known brands such as Marvel, Star Wars, the Game of Thrones, AMC's The Walking Dead and more. As a comic book penciler, his works have been published in numerous publications. 

Dan is a member in good standing of the National Cartoonists Society and runs and promotes several local comicons and Pop Culture Cons. Make sure to visit his website to see samples of his illustrations! ​

​This week on the podcast is part two of our interview with David Cote. He’s a playwright, librettist, and theater critic based in New York City. When we recorded his interview, his opera, Blind Injustice was performed in New York at Jazz at Lincoln Center, and in Cleveland at Playhouse Square. Last year his opera Lucidity premiered with On Site Opera in New York and then had its Northwest premiere at Seattle Opera. Next year Lucidity has its European premiere in Germany.

As a journalist, David’s TV and theater writing appears in The A.V. Club, Observer, 4 Columns, American Theatre and elsewhere. He was the longest serving theater editor and chief drama critic of Time Out New York, and is the author of popular companion books about the Broadway hits: Moulin Rouge! The Musical; Wicked; Jersey Boys and Spring Awakening.

As a performer, he's shared the stage with ensembles such as the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, the Pittsburgh Ballet, and the Blossom Festival Band.  For 8 years he was on the percussion faculty of Carnegie Mellon University, and as a businessperson, he held management positions at Volkwein’s Music going back to 1981, becoming the owner in 2017.
